My background
My career began as a chartered accountant with PwC, working for them in Auckland, New York, Sydney and then London. Working with a wide variety of clients in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the US gave me a strong commercial focus and understanding of business drivers to the work I do.
Recognising the importance of people as a key business driver then led me to a career in strategic human resources, predominantly in global roles. I have facilitated leadership or team development sessions in the following countries: Australia, Bahrain, Belguim, France, Malaysia, Malta, New Zealand, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, UAE, UK, and USA. Participants on these programmes came from over 50 different countries.
My experience working with a wide variety of organisations globally, has shown me the impact that getting the people factors right has on the success and performance of an organisation, and the people within it. Some of the clients I have worked with over the last 10 years are shown further down this page.
Over recent years, I have become interested in the neuroscience of conversations and how the conversational patterns we use impact our ability to create high levels of trust, innovate and gracefully navigate challenging conversations. I am certified in Conversational Intelligence® (C-IQ) which is underpinned by the latest research in neuroscience. C-IQ was recently listed as one of the top 5 business trends by Inc. Magazine, and Microsoft has called it one of the most powerful methodologies of the past decade.
It is my privilege to learn and grow as a member of the invitation-only ACE Virtuoso community of coaches. This small global community of coaches is led by David Goldsmith and David B. Peterson. David Goldsmith is one of the founders of the coaching profession. He was leader of Coach U and also CoachInc.com. He wrote the Dear Coach column for the Sunday London Times and co-founded the Institute of Coaching at Harvard. David B. Peterson is a pioneer in the field of coaching. He was the Director of Google's Executive Coaching and Development and author of best-selling books on coaching and development. Vikki Brock's history of coaching names him as one of the primary influencers in the field both for his early impact in the emergence of coaching and for continuing to shape the field on the cutting edge.
